Stalking – defined by harassing, threatening, or following someone to the point they fear for their safety – is against the law in California.

What are the Penalties?

Stalking can be charged as either a misdemeanor or felony. Misdemeanor stalking can result in up to 1 year in jail. Felony stalking can result in a maximum of 5 years in prison.
