California Negligent Operator
If the California DMV finds that you were a negligent operator, your driver’s license could be suspended or permanently revoked.
To be considered a negligent operator under the Negligent Operator Treatment System (NOTS), you must have accumulated enough traffic violation points on your driving record. There are a number of ways to earn points against your driver’s license. You may receive one point for things like speeding, changing lanes without signaling, and failing to yield to a pedestrian. You can receive two points for more serious violations: a DUI conviction, a hit a run accident, or driving with a suspended license. If enough points are accumulated, the DMV may decide to suspend your license.
